You told yourself the gym starts Monday

You decided next week is the week you get back to the gym.

Monday is the day you cleared the evening.

You might have already paid for the gym membership.

Then Monday comes.

The ninety minutes are sitting there exactly where you left them.

You pick up your phone to figure out what you’re actually going to do when you get there.

Instagram hands you a session from somebody who’s been lifting for years.

ChatGPT writes you one immediately. Barbell back squats, five by five.

Five by five means nothing to you.

Neither does knowing which machine in there is the one in the picture, or what you’re supposed to do if something starts hurting.

Forty-five minutes later you’re still holding your phone and you still haven’t picked anything.

So it moves to Wednesday. Then to next Monday.

By the time anyone asks, it comes out as “I’ve been so busy.”

Those ninety minutes were real.

You spent all of them deciding, and none of them in a gym.
