“This is just how my back is now”

“This is just how my back is now.”

We hear it all the time.

Sometimes it’s the back.

Sometimes it’s the knees, or the hips, or that shoulder that has been cranky for years.

The aches and tightness have been around so long they stopped feeling like a problem to solve and started feeling like a fact of life.

Just getting older.

Just wear and tear.

Just how your body is now.

So you manage around it.

You stretch when it flares up.

You book the massage.

You tell yourself this is the deal from here on out.

Here’s what we’ve seen over and over though.

A lot of the pain that feels like aging isn’t aging at all.

It’s a strength and stability gap.

The muscles that are supposed to support your joints have quietly gotten weaker, so the load lands somewhere it shouldn’t.

That’s not something you have to live with.

It’s something you can change.
